Did you know that Beds SU is run by 4 Exec Officers? Did you know that those 4 Exec Officers are students at UoB? Did you know that our Student Elections are your chance to become one of those 4 Exec Officers?

Our Student Elections are coming soon and it's the time of year that students can apply for a full-time paid job running the Union. There are 4 positions available;

  • Co-President who self-identifies as a man or non-binary
  • Co-President who self-identifies as a woman
  • Co-Vice President of Campus Engagement and Equality who self-identifies as a man or non-binary
  • Co-Vice President of Campus Engagement and Equality who self-identifies as a woman

What Are Executive Officers?

The positions are full-time, paid roles running the SU. Officers will spend large portions of their time gathering feedback from students across the University and working with the support of the staff team to create positive change for students with the aim of making a better university experience for all. Exec Officers get to meet with senior members of the University, including the Vice-Chancellor, on a regular basis and advocate for the views of students. The Exec Officer role starts in July 2022 and they hold their position till the end of June 2023.

Key things you need to know about Student Elections

Beds SU members will be able to apply to become an Exec Officer for 2022/23 at between the 10th January (10am) and the 9th February (4pm). To apply you'll need to tell us a little about why you would be good for the role and why your fellow students should vote for you- there's lots of help and guidance on writing your application at As part of the application process, you will be asked to take part in a husting (a little Q&A) this will be pre-recorded- this is planned for the 14th February at 3pm on Luton Campus and released at the start of voting on 28th February.

If you want to take part in our elections you will need to follow our rules and regulations- make sure you read these before you apply. If successful, you will need to either interrupt your studies for a year or be graduating before July 2022 to take up the position.

All Beds SU members will have the chance to vote on who they want to run the Union between 28th February (6pm) and 10th March (4pm). We will then release the results on Friday 11th March at 6pm.
