As we move ever closer to the Christmas break it’s the perfect time to tell you about the important closing and reopening dates across Beds SU and the wider University.
Beds SU
We will be closing our offices at 16:00 on Wednesday 18 December and reopening on Monday 6 January 2025 at 09:00. This includes the support services we provide. If you need support during this time please see the links to external support agencies at the bottom of this article.
The Metro Bar and Kitchen, Luton will close at 18:00 on Tuesday 17 December and reopen on Monday 6 January 2025 at 09:00.
The Hub, Bedford will be closed from Thursday 12 December at 23:00 and reopen W/C 20 January 2025.
The University of Bedfordshire
The University closes at 12.30 on Tuesday 24 December and reopens on Thursday 2 January. All Campuses will be shut throughout this period.
Library Christmas opening times
Luton - OPEN Tuesday 24 December until 22:00. December 25 - Wednesday 1 January 2025, 10:00 - 16:00. Normal opening hours resume on Thursday 2 January 2025.
Bedford - OPEN Tuesday 24 December until 22:00. CLOSED 25 December until - Wednesday 1 January 2025. Normal opening hours resume on Thursday 2 January 2025.
Aylesbury - CLOSED Wednesday 25 December until Wednesday 1 January 2025. Normal opening hours resume on Thursday 2 January 2024.
Milton Keynes - CLOSED Wednesday 25 December until Wednesday 1 January 2025. Normal opening hours resume on Thursday 2 January 2024. .
Student Information Desk (SiD)
SiD will be closed from 12.30 on Tuesday 24 December and open on Thursday 2 January at 9:00.
From Tuesday 2 - Friday 5 January SiD will be open until 5pm each day. Normal opening hours will resume on Monday 8 January.
International Office
The International Office will be closed from 12.30 on Tuesday 24 December and open on Thursday 2 January at 10:00.
Tree House in Luton and Bedford
The Tree House will be closed from 17:00 on Friday 20 December and open on Monday 6 January at 9:00.

Please note that in the UK, Christmas Day - December 25 - is a public holiday and all supermarkets and most other non-essential services will be closed. Check your local stores for their opening times over the festive period.
