The NUS will hold its Liberation Conference in April 2023. It will bring together Black*, Disabled, LGBT+, Trans and Women students to build communities of activists and plan its campaigning work. The NUS will organise around the cost of living campaign, trans rights and their fight for a liberated society. It will also explore new ideas to be vocal and visible on.

We now need you to vote who gets to represent you! Beds SU has the chance to send six delegates to contribute towards the opportunities outlined above. The six spaces are reserved for delegates who self-define into the groups which are represented at the Liberation Conference. The reserved places are as follows:

  •  One Black* Student
  •  One additional place for a Black* Woman Student
  •  One Trans Student
  •  One LGBT+ Student
  •  One Disabled Student
  •  One Woman Student

To be eligible to vote, you need to self-identify with and join one of our Student Networks (membership is free!). Find our list of networks here.

As a conference attendee, our delegates engage in:

1. Spaces where they can build their networks and connections

2. Meaningful involvement in shaping the next steps of our campaigns

3. Chances to grow their own campaigning skills to take action and win on their campuses. The NUS is building communities of activists to continue to be actively involved in their campaigns. Before, during and after the conference they’ll also be working together to shape what the NUS will be vocal and visible on. These sessions will be part of conversations to continue to shape, grow and develop the campaigning priorities for the movement in the future.

*Black is an inclusive term the NUS uses to denote people of African, Arab, Asian and Caribbean heritage.

Voting is now open and will run until Monday 27th March 4PM.

YOU CAN FIND OUT WHO THE CANDIDATES ARE AND VOTE FOR THEM HERE!

We will be using a Single Transferrable Voting system.

To be eligible to vote, you need to self-identify with and join one of our Student Networks (membership is free!). As such, if you are not interested in going, but want to have a say on who does represent you, please ensure you join to be an eligible voter. Find our list of networks here.
