"I wish I knew that getting involved helps in making friends”
Events and social activities
I wish I knew that I could find upcoming events on the Beds SU website and that the SU’s events are free to attend. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and have fun without spending money.
I wish I knew I can attend events at other campuses. Whichever campus you study on, you are always welcome at Luton and Bedford campus events. This is a good way to explore other towns and make new friends on different courses.
Societies
I wish I knew that I could join as many Beds SU Societies as I liked and they’re all free to join! There’s a variety of them covering everything from academic interests (such as Nursing or Business), to hobbies (such as Gaming or Fibre Crafts), and shared cultures and faiths (such as Afro-Caribbean or Islamic).
Students' Union
I wish I knew that the students’ union is located on the ground floor (room G004) of the Luton campus, it is independent from the University of Bedfordshire and I could visit and make use of their advice services whenever I needed support.
I wish I knew that Bedfordshire Students union (Beds SU) have spaces for socialising with friends, enjoying snacks, playing games, catching up on some coursework or enjoying a relaxing bit of time out. And they are the-metro-luton on the mezzanine(M) floor, G block of Luton campus and the Hub located in the P block at the centre of Bedford campus
Volunteering
I wish I knew I could volunteer to help run society events or even start a new society if you can’t find one for you. It’s a great way to gain confidence, make friends, and build experience that looks great on your CV.
Sports Clubs
I wish I knew about University of Bedfordshire Sports Clubs, it's a great way to engage in the sports you love, make friends and participate in national competitions.
Multi Faith Spaces
I wish I knew that there are multifaith prayer spaces available on campus for students. These spaces make it easier to balance faith and studies, and it is also a welcoming place to meet others who share your values.
I wish I knew about the Treehouse located in J001 at the Luton Campus and S0.02 building on Bedford campus. It is a welcoming space for all students to relax with friends over tea and coffee, join in cultural food events, film nights, discussions and find information about local places of worship and student faith societies.
Local Events
I wish I knew about local events, festivals and cultural spaces, they are great for dancing, eating, meeting people and celebrating with friends.
