When you join the University of Bedfordshire, you don't just join the University - you also become a member of Bedfordshire Students' Union (Beds SU)!

We are here to help every student get the most out of their university experience. We campaign on issues that you care about, as well as provide lots of opportunities for you to meet new people, develop your skills, campaign for change and try something new!

Advice

In order to make sure your voice is heard throughout the year we rely on student representatives.

We have elected student representatives for different communities within the University to make sure we represent everyone.

You can become a student leader for any of the communities you are a part of.

Beds SU has two fantastic venues available – The Metro in Luton and The Hub in Bedford. Both venues were recently refurbished in a modern, rustic style.

Period products for free

We at Beds SU think that period products should be free.

Your Sabbatical Officers have been looking at ways to help with the cost of living and how it impacts our students. Discussions were had with the University regarding period poverty and your Co-President, Chidinma Akwada managed to secure funding from the University for period products to be made available for students on campus.

What does that mean for you?

Across the Luton campus, students can now find free period pads in all first floor and accessible bathrooms. Alternatively, you can attend our Beds SU helpdesk (Mezzanine floor, Campus Centre) where you can also pick up pads.

We are also making period products available to students in Bedford campus and you can simply go to our Beds SU helpdesk in Campus Centre.

We are also currently looking at plans to send out supplies that will be made available in our outlying campuses. We will update with more information in due course.
