When you join the University of Bedfordshire, you don't just join the University - you also become a member of Bedfordshire Students' Union (Beds SU)!

We are here to help every student get the most out of their university experience. We campaign on issues that you care about, as well as provide lots of opportunities for you to meet new people, develop your skills, campaign for change and try something new!

Advice

In order to make sure your voice is heard throughout the year we rely on student representatives.

We have elected student representatives for different communities within the University to make sure we represent everyone.

You can become a student leader for any of the communities you are a part of.

Beds SU has two fantastic venues available – The Metro in Luton and The Hub in Bedford. Both venues were recently refurbished in a modern, rustic style.

Eid al-Fitr 2024 celebration

Wednesday 10 April saw Beds SU celebrate Eid al-Fitr with students at a lunchtime event in the Metro Bar & Kitchen on the Luton Campus.

The lunch was marking the end of Ramadan and over 90 students came along to enjoy the great food on offer from Seyi Lowo (soon to be Co-President) and the Beds SU team.

The event was further demonstration of Beds SU commitment to honouring and celebrating all cultures and creating an inclusive environment across all campuses.

Co-Vice President Amina Awal said,

‘It was wonderful to see so many students enjoying the food and each other’s company. There were people from all different cultures at the event and it was a perfect end to Ramadan.’

Co- President, Ryan Murphy, followed up by saying,

‘It was another great event and we are so happy to support all of our communities. Looking to the future, it’s something that we are fully committed to so if you have an idea for an event or celebration, get in touch with us!’.
