Realising the dramatic impact of cost of living increases on student lives, the SU took on feedback from students and worked with Food First to give away a wide range of cooking utensils, free of charge.
The charity were only too pleased to support UoB students with this ground-breaking initiative which not only gave away free kitchen equipment but also supported the sustainability agenda that the SU is committed to.
Over a hundred students benefitted from the giveaway with an incredible 1200 pieces of equipment distributed over the two hour period. Items included, saucepans, cutlery, mugs, plates, bowls, mugs and pretty much anything else you can think of!
Beds SU Sustainability Champion and organiser in chief, Nat Falacinska said,
“We were astounded by the amount of students that came along and it was a fantastic event. Feedback has been brilliant and we will be looking to arrange a lot more events like this to support our students in such financially difficult times.
