Organised by Student Campaigns Lead, Hauwa Ataja, the event was part of the Beds SU Black History Month programme of events.
When asked about the idea behind event Hauwa said, "Black History Month seemed like the perfect opportunity to shine a light on local talent and inspire students from all backgrounds."
The evening started with an interactive music session with professional drumming maestro, Damilare Adetayo and was followed by a fantastic fashion show from local designer and University of Bedfordshire alumna, Joyce Tetteh from JT Aphrique.
The crowd were entertained by a host of UoB student models wearing some of Joyce's favourite designs from her shop in The Point in Luton.
After the excitement of the fashion show, Afro Beats artists, Lil Dips and Reggie took to the stage with their own orginal material and were joined by our very own OJ the DJ.
Speaking after the event, Hauwa said, "It was a truly great evening. Everything from the music, clothing and the traditional food was perfect. I was delighted to see so many students enjoying themselves and enjoying the talent on show."
