Since Welcome week we have heard from an increasing number of students occupying flats in Home for Students (HFS) accommodation in Bedford and Campus Living Village (CLV) flats in Luton.
We fully appreciate and sympathise with students who are concerned and frustrated by issues with their accommodation and whilst some of these issues have arisen recently we understand others are long-standing.
Firstly, we want to thank all students who have come forward with evidence of issues relating to your accommodation and we ask that you continue to do so by contacting us via email help@bedssu.ac.uk or by contacting your Sabbatical Officers, providing photos and any other evidence you have.
We are also arranging meetings with internal and external partners to discuss the issues and work towards a satisfactory resolution for our students.
Bedford campus
On 20 October we issued an open letter to Homes for Students, detailing the issues on the Bedford campus, reminding them of their obligations set by the Accreditation Network UK (ANUK) and the guidelines in which they are required to carry out repairs and maintenance in a timely manner.
We have also requested an open meeting for residents, Beds SU representatives and HFS in order for students to be able to put their concerns directly to the accommodation providers and receive answers.

On Monday 23 October we invited students to meet with the SU to discuss any issues specifically in Bedford and will be passing on your feedback to the University.
