We were delighted to enjoy a huge turnout for our yearly Diwali celebration event and welcomed over 200 students to the Metro Bar!
The afternoon started with a traditional greeting and prayer from Yogesh Mistry from the Hindu Mandir, Community Centre in Luton who also shared some background to the festival and why it is so important to his faith.
The party then got into full swing as the music played and a delicious biryani was served. Students danced to their favourite tunes and traditional sweets were then shared to top off a fantastic afternoon.
Speaking after the event, Student Campaigns Lead, Hauwa Ataja said,
"It was a wonderful afternoon and brilliant to see so many students enjoing themselves. The dancing was very energetic and I felt worn out just watching. Beds SU is here to support all students and it's lovely to see so many coming together and sharing each other's company in a relaxed and safe environment."
