Last week, Beds SU hosted several campus events to celebrate International Nurses Day and International Day of the Midwife.
The events were held across three campuses, from Luton, Bedford and Aylesbury and our student nurses and midwives tucked into the biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate on offer. In total we had over 100 students attend and it was great to see so many of you share what being a nurse and midwife meant to you. A midwife who attended the events had this to say:
“It’s really nice for midwives to be celebrated as well as the nurses, thank you! It’s nice to connect with other students on similar courses too. We sat down, had a chat and a cup of tea!”
Chidera Umeh, our Co-Vice President (Self-identifying Male/Non-binary) attended one of the events and said:
“I had a lovely time meeting student nurses and midwives there at the event who do so much for us. I always enjoy engaging with the students I represent and learning about what they do.”
It was brilliant to see so many nurses and midwives enjoying a well-deserved break and we at Beds SU would like to thank you for the amazing work you do for all of us. Pictures from the events can be found on our Instagram and Flickr.
