It was a perfect chance for students to get together to celebrate the ‘Festival of Lights’ and enjoy music, dancing, socialising and some lovely food and traditional sweets.
Over 180 students attended the event which opened with a traditional prayer and blessing led by student Abhishek Harishkumar Pane. There then followed a delicious curry prepared by the SUs very own premier chef Seyi with some traditional sweets to finish off!
Great fun
Speaking after the event, Beds SU Societies Co-ordinator Ursula Lavis said,
“It was a fantastic afternoon and great to see such a huge turnout of students. Special thanks to Abhishek who for the third year running started the event off with a wonderful prayer and blessing. The energy shown by the dancing students was incredible and made me feel tired watching it.
The SU is always keen to help students celebrate important days during the year and if anyone has any ideas about events they’d like to see, please get in touch.”
