We are here to help every student get the most out of their university experience. We campaign on issues that you care about, as well as provide lots of opportunities for you to meet new people, develop your skills, campaign for change and try something new!

In order to make sure your voice is heard throughout the year we rely on student representatives.

We have elected student representatives for different communities within the University to make sure we represent everyone.

You can become a student leader for any of the communities you are a part of.

Beds SU has two fantastic venues available – The Metro in Luton and The Hub in Bedford. Both venues were recently refurbished in a modern, rustic style.

Forthcoming Improvements to Bedford Shuttle Bus Service

Thanks to involvement by Dylan Cox, Beds SU Co-Vice President, there will be changes introduced to the Bedford Shuttle Bus timetable. Here are the details.

Dylan Cox, Beds SU Co-Vice President, has spent the last couple of weeks liaising with Juliet Fern (Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education, English & Sport) and Natalie Gray (Head of Campus Services, Facilities and Estates) to amend the current shuttle bus timetable between the Bedford campus and Bedford train station.

Thanks to Dylan's involvement, we're delighted to announce that timetable changes will now be introduced to improve the service.

Previously, there was a 25 minute wait between trains arriving at Bedford Station and the shuttle bus arriving. The timetable changes, which will be implemented on 8 November 2021, will reduce the interchange time to five minutes.

These alterations were made in response to data that indicated which train services were most popular with students.

What are the changes?

The new official timetable is available to download from the Uni's website (PDF), but here are the changes in summary:

The shuttle bus will leave the campus on the hour (e.g., 9:00 or 10:00) and on the half-hour (e.g., 9.30 or 10.30)
The shuttle bus will arrive at the train station at 10 past the hour (e.g., 9.10 or 10.10) and 40 minutes past the hour (e.g., 9.40 or 10.40)

The approximate journey time between Bedford Campus and Bedford Station is 11 minutes.
