Beds SU

Wednesday, 16 July 2025

Here at Beds SU supporting students through every aspect of their time at university is our core mission. This includes offering confidential, free and impartial advice on any challenges you may face by a team of brilliant, knowledgeable advisors.

If you have needed to access our advice and support team in recent years you may well have met or spoken to a member of our incredible team. As we enter the summer and new academic year, we will be saying farewell to these wonderful people, in part due to organisational changes and new opportunities that are taking them on to new roles.

We know you will join us in thanking them for all they have done to support students here at UoB and wish them well for the future.

To ensure we can continue to offer students a dedicated Advice service during this transition period we will be rolling out the following plan:

Drop-ins:

From week commencing the 7 July through to the 31 July we will be offering drop-ins at the following times:

Monday 10am-12pm - (in-person/online)

Wednesday 10am-12pm - (in-person/online)

Wednesday PM 4:30pm-6pm - (online only)

Friday 10am-12pm - (online only)

You can access them via zoom here. Or in person please take a seat outside Pod 2, Mezzanine floor, G Block, Luton. Please note this is a first come basis.

From 1 August to 22 August we will only be open Monday – Wednesday with reduced capacity for Drop-Ins.

To support as many students as possible in this time, we will be holding a weekly Appeals Workshop online. These are provisionally booked for Tuesdays but this may change depending on staff availability.

We strongly recommend that you email help@bedssu.co.uk in the first instance so that we may direct you to the fastest source of advice at that point in time.

Community Pantry

We will be closing the pantry during August and will update on when the service will resume in due course. We know that this is a vital service for students, and we appreciate that your needs may continue throughout the summer. We have been liaising with other local services which you can access as required. Please find all details here for Luton services and here for Bedford.

Should you require advice on matters such as academic appeals, academic misconduct, accommodation, wellbeing or information about the type of support available for worries concerning sexual harassment, domestic abuse or mental health, we have a dedicated resource with guidance on all matters of university and personal advice that you can access here.
