STIQ Day 2025
What is STIQ Day?
Tuesday 14th January is Sexually Transmitted Infection Question Day (STIQ Day)
The day was launched to get people thinking about their own sexual health; promote informed discussions about sexually transmitted infections, raise awareness and encourage more people to go for sexual health check-ups. Everyone’s sexual health is important and we at Beds SU want to mark this day to encourage students in our university community know that there is no stigma in wanting to look after your sexual health, ask questions without judgement and know where to look for professional support.
How you can promote Sexual Health
• Do not be afraid to talk about sex and sexual health: Ask questions about STIs and practices of safer sex. We would encourage you to find trusted information from healthcare professionals or reliable sources.
• Raise awareness: You could do this by sharing informative trusted articles and resources about sexual health and STIs via social media or in conversation to inform friends and your social networks of how they can also look after their sexual health.
• Get yourself tested: Be proactive in getting tested if you are sexually active, we would advise individuals to consider getting tested for STIs regularly as part of your health routine. We go to the doctors for our physical and mental health, so the same should be the case with our sexual health- encourage and support others to get tested also!
