The Afro Caribbean Society is one of our most well supported groups and boasts over 100 members. They are currently running a series of events for all students including, Afro Beats Nights, a quiz and a Halloween spectacular.

Fiona Sule, BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise, is a leading light in the society and helps organise the many events. Fiona says,

"I joined the society as it is an Inclusive place for people like me to come to and just socialise when needed. And a space where students can speak their mind at their own will.

I think societies in general are so important to students as they provide for a collaborative setting externally to academics for students to join under common hobbies and interests."

When talking about the future plans for the society Fiona added,

"We recently held an afrobeats night and meet & greet for members, but  plans for a Nando’s night, a Halloween event and a games night are also in play!"
