Update: Outcome of vote on changes to our Governing Documents

As part of our annual end of year Survey we asked our student members to vote on changes proposed to our Governing Documents. Read on for the outcome.

Earlier this year we shared with you our proposal to adopt the NUS’s new version of Governing Documents (also known as Articles of Association) which we believed are more accessible both in the language used and readability. These documents are the blueprint of how we operate and ensure you can see, understand and hold us to account on.

The Outcome:

We appreciate all the feedback we received on this matter and can share that Members approved this at the Annual Members’ Meeting with 94% in favour. 

Next steps:

The Articles now await formal consideration by the University of Bedfordshire Board of Governors in July. Following that, Company Members (Trustees) must approve again before submission to the Charity Commission.

Once this process is complete, we will share the new documents with you all.

Once again thank you to every student member who took time to vote on this matter and complete the end of year Beds SU survey. The five winners of the 5 x £100 cash prizes have also been randomly selected and notified.
