When you join the University of Bedfordshire, you don't just join the University - you also become a member of Bedfordshire Students' Union (Beds SU)!

We are here to help every student get the most out of their university experience. We campaign on issues that you care about, as well as provide lots of opportunities for you to meet new people, develop your skills, campaign for change and try something new!

Advice

In order to make sure your voice is heard throughout the year we rely on student representatives.

We have elected student representatives for different communities within the University to make sure we represent everyone.

You can become a student leader for any of the communities you are a part of.

Beds SU has two fantastic venues available – The Metro in Luton and The Hub in Bedford. Both venues were recently refurbished in a modern, rustic style.

We have heard that you, Beds Students, want better feedback from your assessments so we are setting out the ideal situation for students which we can start to work towards and lobby the University to achieve. Come along to our workshop or leave your ideas online to influence our proposal.

Assessment Feedback Ideal

The final policy ideal is currently being reviewed by your Union Parliament members and they will vote on whether to implement the ideal between now and 23 February. Remember you can tell your Union Parliament representatives how you think they should vote.

Do you think assessment feedback needs improving at UoB, tell us how and what the ideal situation round assessment feedback would be for you.

The proposal suggests that Beds SU believes the University of Bedfordshire (UoB) should carry out more stringent auditing and reviewing of assessment and feedback practices (as outlined in the UoB CRe8 framework) – as well as provide greater opportunities for student-staff liaison over assessment and feedback – in order to maximise the extent to which assessments enable students to achieve the necessary knowledge and skills described their programme’s intended learning outcomes.
