Student voice is at the heart of what Beds SU does but it doesn't work without the much needed support of UoB colleagues. In partnership with the University, Beds SU has been busy curating a range of resources to help students understand more about their student voice, how to use it, and what Beds SU can do for them.
We actively encourage colleagues to incorporate these materials into inductions or preparations for Course Rep elections, and hope that you will find these useful. If there's a resource that you think is missing or an alternative format that you would like to see it in, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do all we can to make that a reality.
We politely ask that all course staff show our induction video to students at the start of the academic year (7 mins). The video aims to induct students into how their students’ union represents them and the ways in which students can participate or engage in everything their SU offers them, which includes course representation and its independent Advice Service.
We are also seeking invites to the classroom. A full-time elected representative would like to attend classes, either in person or virtually, to introduce themselves and Beds SU, giving a ‘face’ to the SU and making sure all students know we are here for them.
You can email email@example.com at any time to request assistance with these resources or generally be in touch.
Information & Promotional Material for Course Rep Elections (teaching weeks 1-4)
Course Rep elections are the responsibility of Course Leaders/Coordinators- course reps for 2021/22 need to be elected and the SU notified by the 22nd October 2021.
Beds SU has provided this one-stop document for running the election for Course Reps over the Teaching Weeks 1-4; we recommend week 1/2 for continuing students and 3/4 for 1st years but information can be used at anytime suitable for your course. The table takes you through each step with guidance, links to relevant resources, and text that you can edit, copy, and paste onto BREO and into email circulation to make sure that all Course Reps are elected by Friday 22nd October.
Please email all course reps to firstname.lastname@example.org.
